A grape variety grown exclusively in Piedmont, Freisa di Chieri DOC finds its classic production area in the Turin Hills, a stone's throw from the Piedmontese capital. Locally known mostly in the sparkling version.
Wine:  Freisa di Chieri DOC Sparkling
Grape variety:  Freisa 100%
Production area:  The hill located east of Turin, up to the border of the province of Asti.
Vinification:  Maceration for at least 3 days at a controlled temperature, completes the second fermentation in an autoclave
Maturation: short, on the yeasts.
Color:  Ruby red.
Aroma:  Fruity and floral, with intense sensations ranging from raspberry to violet.
Taste:  In the mouth it is pleasantly lively, thanks to a long refermentation in an autoclave (Charmat method), slightly sweet and fresh, with a very delicate and characteristic tannic note.
Best time to consume:  1-3 years.
Pairings:  It is a wine for all meals that pairs well with medium and long-aged cured meats, tagliatelle with ragù, fried chicken.
Serving instructions:  Freshly uncorked in medium-sized glasses at a temperature of 14-18°C.
