Barbera D@asti

Case of 6

£68.40

Typical Piedmontese wine par excellence, in recent years it has been revalued thanks to good work in the vineyard that has enhanced its qualities. It is a generous vine that gives purple-colored wines, with good alcohol content.
Wine:  Barbera d'Asti DOCG
Grape variety:  Barbera
Production area:  The grapes that give rise to this wine come from the hills surrounding San Damiano d'Asti called Colline Alfieri. These hills, due to their shape and the nature of the soil, give Barbera a surprising harmony that makes it pleasant already in the year following the harvest.
Vinification:  Maceration for 6 days at 28°C
Maturation: at least until March in cement.
Color:  Intense ruby red with purple reflections.
Aroma:  Fruity, floral, slightly spicy; hints reminiscent of violet and black pepper.
Taste:  Full-bodied, dry, savoury, fresh and pleasant on the palate.
Best time to consume:  1-3 years.
Pairings:  It is a wine for all meals, which finds its ideal pairings in traditional Piedmontese dishes, such as Barbera risotto, meat agnolotti, mixed boiled meats and medium-aged toma cheeses.
