Freisa D'Asti DOC - Zaffo

Case of 6

£79.20

A vine grown exclusively in Piedmont, Freisa finds its most suitable production area in the Alto Astigiano area. A vine with medium-late ripening, it produces wines rich in aromas and, in the best exposures, also in structure.
Wine: Freisa d'Asti DOC
Grape variety: Freisa
Production area: Castelnuovo don Bosco and villages located on the surrounding hills. To make this wine, only grapes from the oldest and best exposed vines are used, therefore with lower yields but with excellent quality.
Vinification: Medium-long maceration at a maximum temperature of 26°C.
Devatting is performed.
Maturation: Minimum 20 months, small barrel + bottle.
Color: Ruby red with light garnet reflections, more marked with aging.
Aroma: On the nose it is intense and complex with fruity hints, plum, blueberry and raspberry, spicy, especially vanilla and cinnamon.
Taste: In the mouth the wine is decidedly dry, warm, soft with a good body and a tannin very rounded by the refinement. Pleasant for its structure and harmony.
Best time to consume: 2-10 years.
Pairings: Recommended with structured or tasty dishes such as beef stew, polenta and stew, game in salmi or even grilled lamb.
Serving method: In large glasses, preferably decanted first, at a temperature of 20°C.
