Typical Piedmontese wine par excellence, in recent years it has been revalued thanks to good work in the vineyard that has enhanced its qualities. Alfiere is marketed no earlier than 2 years after the harvest.
Wine:  Barbera d'Asti DOCG
Grape variety:  Barbera
Production area: The grapes that give rise to this wine come from the hills of Monferrato, in particular in the municipalities bordering San Damiano d'Asti and Castelnuovo Don Bosco. These grapes are harvested in ancient vineyards with a low yield per hectare and excellent quality.
Vinification:  Medium-duration maceration at a temperature of 26°C.
Maturation: Minimum 20 months, medium-small barrels + bottle
Color:  Intense ruby ​​red with slightly garnet reflections.
Aroma:  Fruity and spicy; toasted sensations of vanilla, chocolate, plum and jam stand out.
Taste:  Full-bodied, dry, savoury, fresh with a delicate tannicity conferred by the refinement.
Best time for consumption: 2-6 years after the harvest.
Pairings:  It is an important wine that requires pairing with substantial dishes such as tagliolini with ragù, red meats, braised meats, goat or mature cheeses, Castelmagno.
Serving instructions:  Decanted or uncorked one hour before at a temperature of 18-20°C.
