A grape variety grown exclusively in Piedmont, Freisa di Chieri DOC finds its classic production area in the Turin Hills, a stone's throw from the Piedmontese capital. Locally known mostly in the sparkling version, it finds a unique expression in this still vinified version.

Grape variety:  Freisa 
Production area:  The hill located to the east of Turin, up to the border of the province of Asti. To create La Torrigiana, every year only vines located in optimal soil and climate conditions are selected to give a product with a notable structure.
Vinification:  Medium-long maceration at a maximum temperature of 26 °C.
Devatting is carried out
Maturation: Minimum 20 months, medium barrel + bottle
Color:  Intense ruby ​​red, tending towards garnet with aging.
Aroma:  On the nose it is fine, elegant with sensations reminiscent of fruit and flowers such as raspberries and violets, but also a delicate spicy note of vanilla.
Taste:  In the mouth the wine is dry, warm, harmonious with a good body and a pleasant tannin that leaves a long almond finish in the mouth.
Best time to consume:  2-8 years
Pairings:  Torrigiana pairs well with medium-aged cheeses, such as Valdostan Fontina or Pecorino, and can also go very well with tortelli in broth or grilled fillet steak.
Serving method:  In large glasses, at a temperature of 18-20°C.
